Mustang Acceleration Scholarship Program

Empowering Iola High School students to reach their full potential through advanced academic support and financial assistance. Our program bridges the gap between high school success and community college excellence.

Eligibility & Requirements

Student Eligibility

  • Grade Level: Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors

  • Academic Standing: Minimum of 2.0 GPA

  • Credit Limit: No cap on the number of credit hours covered

Program Requirements & Guidelines

To keep administration simple, the sole requirement for initial funding is a signed parent/student acknowledgment form outlining the program's rules.

  • Course Delivery: The following courses will be covered:

    • Concurrent Courses (all courses taught by HS staff in the HS building)

    • Dual Credit Courses (online or on Allen’s campus) that are not being taught concurrently.

  • Deadlines: Student schedules must be finalized within one week of the course start date, aligning with the college’s standard add/drop deadline.

Academic Accountability & Funding

Funding for future courses is tied directly to course completion:

  • Good Standing: 100% coverage for students who pass all funded classes.

  • First Failure/Withdrawal: Future course coverage drops to 50%.

  • Second Failure/Withdrawal: Future course coverage drops to 0%.

Appeals Process: Students who fall below these requirements or the GPA minimum may file an appeal. This also includes students that do not meet the requirements to receive the state’s Excel in CTE funding. The appeal requires a written statement detailing their academic goals and a proactive plan for success.
